Motorola had a fantastic year last year, introducing a ton of new and intriguing gadgets to its lineup. The Motor Edge 40 was one of the company’s noteworthy debuts in India last year, and users gave it great reviews. There’s a lot to discuss about the smartphone, so let’s get started. Motorola revealed the Moto Edge 50 Pro today, the newest edition of the Edge line.
Moto Edge 50 Pro: Specifications
From the back, the Edge 50 Pro resembles a standard Motorola phone. The gadget has a metal frame and a silicon vegan leather finish on the rear. The camera module curls from the sides for a comfortable grip and nearly disappears into the back. The phone weighs 186 grams and has buttons for volume and power on the right side. Lenovo’s ThinkShield protects the display, and the phone is IP68 rated.
Moto says that the 6.7-inch, 10-bit, 1.5K 144Hz pOLED curved panel on the Edge 50 Pro is the first in the world. It has HDR10+ certification and 2,000 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, to reduce eye strain, the display features 720Hz PWM optimization and DC dimming.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which powers the recently introduced OnePlus Nord CE 4 (review) and Vivo V30, is also included in the Motorola Edge 50 Pro package. It is comparable to the Dimensity 8200 and performs marginally better than the Dimensity 7200 (Pro or Ultra) found in the Nothing Phone 2a (review), but it is not as good as its larger cousin, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
Additionally, the phone has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The battery is a 4,500 mAh device with a 125 W charging capacity. It’s crucial to remember that Motorola will only include the 125W power adaptor with the more expensive 12GB + 256GB model. The package includes a 68W charger for the 8GB + 256GB device.
The phone’s back is equipped with three cameras. The main lens is a 50 MP f/1.4 OIS snapper. A 10 MP telephoto lens with a 3x optical and 30x digital zoom makes up the secondary. A 13 MP ultrawide/macro camera is the third. The front camera is a 50 MP autofocus camera with an f/1.9 lens. The phone has most of the key LTE and 5G bands for connectivity. Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6 are also supported. Based on Android 14, Hello UI comes preinstalled on the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. Motorola has guaranteed three operating system updates and four years of security patches. Unexpectedly, the USB Type-C port is USB 3.1. Because display port 1.4 is supported, it can output video to larger screens.
Moto Edge 50 Pro: Price and Availability
The base model of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, which comes with 8GB + 256GB of storage, costs Rs 31,999. In India, the 12GB + 256GB version will cost you Rs 35,999 if you desire extra RAM. With bank discounts and an extra deal, the Edge 50 Pro is available for as little as Rs 27,999 for the two variants and Rs 31,999 for the one. This is part of the inaugural offer.
