WhatsApp is down worldwide, Instagram and Facebook are also having problems

The messaging app WhatsApp, which has 2 billion users globally, is unavailable. Just after 2:00 PM ET today, users began having trouble connecting to WhatsApp in a number of different regions. For many, the service was stopped at “connecting.” The messaging service, owned by Meta, looks to be going down severely everywhere in the world.

Both WhatsApp and Meta don’t have their own status pages or listings on their service status pages. Until WhatsApp is back online, you can still send messages, but they won’t be delivered.

Although there aren’t any problems with the status page on other Meta services like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads either, many users are reporting problems when attempting to see recently posted content or submit new posts.
