How to pair AirPods with MacBook

If your iPhone and AirPods are already synced :
It’s simple to use AirPods on a Mac that are connected to an iPhone. Just confirm that the same Apple ID is being used to log into iCloud on the Mac and iPhone. However, this method might not work if your Mac at work requires a different account or if numerous people use your iPhone.


Step 1: Activate the AirPods and place them in your ears.

Step 2: On your Mac, click on the Control Center icon positioned on the Menu Bar—on Big Sur or later, it’s adjacent to the Spotlight Search icon, and on Catalina, it’s beside the Wi-Fi icon.

Step 3: Choose the AirPods from the dropdown menu. Usually, they’ll be listed as [Your Name]’s AirPods. You’ll hear a chime once the AirPods are connected.

For brand-new AirPods on MacOS :


Step 1: Access System Preferences by clicking the Gear icon on the Dock or by selecting the Apple logo in the top-left corner, then choosing System Preferences.

Step 2: Navigate to Bluetooth and ensure it’s enabled.

Step 3: Position the AirPods in their charging case with the lid open, as illustrated below.

Step 4: Locate the Setup button at the back of the AirPods case. Press and hold this button until the status LED starts flashing white, indicating that the AirPods are now in pairing mode.

Step 5: On your Mac, navigate to the Bluetooth menu. In the Devices section, locate the AirPods listed under Nearby Devices. Click on the Connect button to establish the connection.
